Sage, slate or black: how should a clinic choose a mat color?

Pick the color your patients will see as yours. Sage and slate read calm and clinical on a bathroom or kitchen counter and show lint less; black reads premium and gives the most contrast for a white pad, a clear vial and a printed mark. All three carry the clinic's mark, and a custom brand color is a run of its own.
The three stock colors
| Color | Pantone | How it reads |
|---|---|---|
| Sage | 15-0318 TCX Sage Green | Warm, soft, spa-like. The color that made our sample right. |
| Slate | 16-5804 TCX Slate Gray | Cool, clinical, neutral on any counter. |
| Black | 19-0303 TCX Jet Black | Premium, high contrast. Shows lint more, wipes back with a pad. |
How to choose
- Match the clinic, not the trend. The mat is the surface patients look at for the whole dose. If the clinic's brand is green, sage; if it is grey, white or navy, slate; if it is black and gold, black.
- Think about contrast. A white pad and a clear vial stand out most on black. On sage and slate, the printed mark is quieter.
- Think about the counter. Bathroom counters are often white or marble; all three work. Black mats on dark counters lose their edges.
A custom color
A clinic can have the mat in its own brand color. Send the Pantone code; the color is matched in the sample, and you approve it in hand before anything is made. A custom color is its own run.
The mark on it
Whatever the color, the clinic's mark is printed on the mat, not stickered, so it survives daily alcohol wipes. Plain mats with no mark are available too.
Questions

Sage (Pantone 15-0318 TCX Sage Green), slate (16-5804 TCX Slate Gray) and black (19-0303 TCX Jet Black).
Can we get our own brand color?
Yes. A custom color is a run of its own. Send the Pantone code and we match it in the sample before anything is made.
Which color hides wear best?
Sage and slate show lint less than black. Black shows the clinic's mark and the opened pad with the most contrast.
